Syrian TV in Canada
How Syrian-Canadian families watch Syrian news, Syrian drama and the Ramadan series season over their home internet. القنوات السورية في كندا.
Syrians in Canada
Canada welcomed tens of thousands of Syrian refugees from 2015 onward, and they joined an established Syrian community in Montreal and Toronto. Today Syrian families live in every province, including Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Halifax and Vancouver. For many, Arabic TV is how children keep their language and how parents follow the news from home.
Syrian drama
Syrian drama is famous across the Arab world, especially the historical and social series that premiere every Ramadan. Many of these series are broadcast on pan-Arab channels in the Gulf and Lebanon, so a Syrian household usually needs both a Syria category and the pan-Arab entertainment channels. Ask us which current series and channels are available.
What Syrian households usually look for
Syrian and Levantine news, Ramadan series, comedy, cooking and family shows, children's programming in Arabic, and religious programming. Because licensing changes, we confirm the current list on WhatsApp.
Time difference
Syria is seven hours ahead of Eastern time. Middle East prime time is around 1 to 3 p.m. in Toronto and around 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Calgary. Use favourites and catch-up on supported channels. City guides: Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver.
Help for newcomers
If you are new to Canada, you do not need a dish, a contract or a credit check. A low-cost Fire TV Stick or a Smart TV and a home internet plan are enough, and we explain each step on WhatsApp in Arabic.
Teaching children Arabic
For Syrian families who arrived recently, keeping Arabic alive for the children is a priority. Arabic cartoons in Modern Standard Arabic, educational children's programmes and family series help children who now study in English or French. Create a Kids favourites list and lock adult categories with the player app's parental PIN so children can use the TV on their own.
Prices and trial
Plans are the same everywhere in Canada: 6 months $29.99, 1 year $49.99 or 2 years $84.99 (USD), paid once with no contract. See pricing or start with a free trial on WhatsApp.
A note on channel lists
We do not publish channel counts or promise specific Syrian channels, because availability depends on current licensing and can change. Ask us on WhatsApp for the current Syria category and confirm your must-have channels during the trial. Test during the hours your household actually watches, on the TV you will actually use. Write down any channel you could not find and ask us before paying.
